Pune: Maha Vikas Aghadi workers stage novel protest to draw attention to daily traffic jams in Pune

Pune: A novel protest was staged on Friday to draw attention of the authorities to the issue of daily traffic snarls in the city. Eminent citizens rode horses from Rashtrabhushan Chowk to SP College during the stir.

It has become difficult for common people to travel within the city. Daily traffic jams are witnessed on main roads, in bylanes and at market places. Students, workers, traders, patients get stuck in congestion for over one or two hours while going to school, college, hospital and market. Moreover, accidents are also taking place. The administration is ignoring the scenario. Puneites are putting their lives in danger daily while travelling.

MVA workers drew the attention of the RTO, the civic body and the traffic department to the issue. Hence, they protested in a novel way. MLA Ravindra Dhangekar, former Mayor Ankush Kakade, MPCC General Secretary Sanjay Balgude, Ajit Abhyankar, former PMC School Committee President Sangeeta Tiwari, former party Vice-President Narendra Vyavahare and former Corporator Vishal Dhanwade participated in the agitation.
