Concerns Looming Over Residents

Pune: The original landowners and developers of the Natya Chitra Co operative Society (Kalagram) Society (Kothrud), a cooperative housing society affiliated with the Film Society for Cooperative Housing Construction, have filed a writ petition in the High Court challenging the district deputy registrar’s approval of the society’s deemed conveyance, issued by the Cooperative Department (Pune). The society’s President and Secretary have also responded to the petition.

As a result, legal hurdles have arisen in the redevelopment project of this society, comprising 65 flats and 24 shops, causing anxiety among residents.

In Kothrud, at Daavi Bhosari Colony, all members of the Kalagram Society (Film Society for Cooperative Housing) under the chairmanship of Bharat Marathe and Secretary Ashok Lohar, are in opposition. The original landowner, Mr. Shinde, filed this petition on June 25, 2024, and Power of Attorney holder and original developer J.S. Associates have been represented by Kavita Shyamrao Gawali in the High Court. In their petition, they have challenged the deemed conveyance of the society dated 5/12/2019 and also raised objections against the utilization of the remaining FSI of 502 square meters by any third-party developers, thus posing questions about the redevelopment of the society.

The society has already faced significant challenges, with the ‘D’ wing being demolished, causing fear among its members. Now, with the filing of this petition in the High Court, the issue of the society’s redevelopment has become even more critical, leaving residents increasingly concerned.
