Pune lawyers to meet CM, demand withdrawal of cases against Maratha youths

Lawyers under the aegis of Pune Bar Association (PBA) on Monday walked around the district court premises and offered garland to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue at SSPMS in Shivajinagar. They obeisance to the people who died during the Maratha reservation agitation.

The PBA has also decided to defend Maratha youths free of cost, against whom cases have been filed during the protests.

The PBA will soon meet Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and hand over a petition in this regard. They also appealed the CM to stop police from arresting the youths for participating the in the agitation.

The lawyers present on the occasion included PBA president adv Subhas Pawar, vice president Bhupendra Gosavi, Rekha Karande, secretary adv Santosh Shitole, Laxman Ghule, Pratap More, Sudam Murkute, Milind Pawar, Hemant Zanzad, Vivek Bhargude, Kumar Paygude, Ravi Pawar, Vijay Shinde, Nitin Zanzad, Vishwajit Patil, Bharati Jagde, and Poonam Bhosale.
