Pune Kidney Racket | Ruby Hall Managing Trustee Dr Pervez Grant, four other renowned surgeons booked for illegal kidney transplant

Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Kidney Racket | Some doctors, including the Managing Trustee of Ruby Hall Clinic have been booked by the Koregaon Park police for an illegal transplant of kidney. The donor woman had lodged complaint at the Koregaon Park police station alleging that she was promised Rs 15 lakh for donating her kidney. However, she did not get money. Thus, she was cheated by the agent.

This news was broken and followed up by Lokshahi News journalist Chandrashekhar Bhange. The Pune police investigated the case. It was proved that the donor woman was operated upon for the said transplant.

The accused have been identified as Amit Annasaheb Salunkhe, Sujata Amit Salunkhe, both residents of Pune, Annasaheb Salunkhe, a resident of Solapur, Shankar Haribhau Patil, Sunanda Haribhau Patil, Ravi Gaikwad, Abhijit Madane, Ruby Hall Managing Trustee Dr Pervez Grant, Ruby Hall Deputy Director Rebecca Grant, Manjusha Kulkarni, Dr Abhay Sadre, Dr Himesh Gandhi, Dr Bhoopat Singh Bhati, and Surekha Joshi.

The donor woman has also reportedly cheated the hospital. It has been alleged that she had submitted documents in someone else’s name. The incident took place from August 2021 to March 2022. The surgery for the kidney transplant took place on March 24 at Ruby Hall Clinic. On March 29, the donor woman told the police that her real name does not appear on the papers. Then she lodged a complaint against the middle man.

Earlier, the woman wrote a letter to the police. She stated that she was promised Rs 15 lakh for donating a kidney. However, she did not get the money and was cheated. Later, the hospital also wrote a letter to the police. It stated that the surgery was permitted after the area committee scrutinized all the documents in the case. Only then the surgery was performed. There could be involvement of some more people, which needed to investigated, stated the letter written by Ruby Hall.
