Pune : Graduate constituency MNS candidate Rupali Patil gets threat call from Satara

Pune: The candidate fielded by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) for the graduate constituency elections from Pune, has reportedly received a threat call from a man based in Satara district. The caller has threatened Rupali Patil with dire consequences and warned her to refrain from becoming a member of the state legislative assembly.

Meanwhile Rupali Patil has filed a complaint in this regard with the Pune Police. She has demanded that the police should investigate this matter and arrest the concerned person at the earliest.

According to the complaint filed by Patil, the caller had called on her mobile on Saturday. The caller identified himself as Labade from Satara district. The caller and the mobile number both were unknown to Patil. Her mobile was with a female worker of the party when the threat call was received. Patil’s colleague was frightened after receiving the call and immediately informed her about it. The caller has threatened to take Patil’s life if she contests the graduate constituency elections from Pune division.

Patil has recently completed her Satara district tour as a part of her outreach campaign for the graduate constituency elections. She is scheduled to visit the Satara district again from Sunday and has now demanded police protection while touring the region.

Patil said that she does not fear such threat calls and will continue with her campaign as planned earlier. Patil is presently the president of womens wing of the MNS. The party decided to give her a chance in the graduate constituency elections. Other political parties have also announced candidates for these elections. However, stray instances like this threat call indicates that persons with criminal background may have started entering graduate constituency elections campaign too.
