Pune: Football coach held for sexual assault on minor girl player

Pune: A football coach has been arrested for sexually assaulting a minor girl soccer player. The incident took place near Ambedkar Chowk in Undri, Kondhwa before June 7.

The coach was booked and arrested under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on Sunday.

The 14-year-old victim’s mother lodged a complaint at the Kondhwa Police Station. A case has been registered against Yash Hemant Jain (25), a resident of Undri, under sections 376/2/N, 376/2/F of the POCSO Act.

According to the police, the accused, Jain, is a football coach. The complainant’s daughter is being trained as a football player by him. On the pretext of training her, Jain gained the confidence of the girl and forced her to have physical relations. The matter was revealed when the victim narrated this to her mother, who immediately approached the police. The accused was then arrested.
