Civic official beaten up during anti-encroachment drive at Dhanori
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Dhanori Encroachment Operation | After the tenure of the PMC’s General Body ended, the state government has appointed an administrator. After Vikram Kumar took over the responsibility as the administrator, he had indicated that strong anti-encroachment drives would be undertaken in the city. The administration is demolishing illegal shops, food stalls and unauthorised constructions. The citizens are opposing this action at many places.
The civic administration had undertaken an anti-encroachment drive in Dhanori. The local residents had opposed the drive. However, since the PMC continued its action, the residents were angry. They threw stones at the JCB and strongly protested against the civic action. They also beat up civic employees. Civic officials have filed a complaint at the Vishrantwadi police station.
According to the information, a team of the civic body had gone to Dhanori and the residents opposed their action. However, the officials did not listen to them and continued with their action. The citizens threw stones on the team and beat up an official. A civic employee has been badly injured.
