Youth hits minor girl’s head with hammer in Talegaon for lodging eve-teasing complaint

Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | In a brutal attack, a youth on Thursday evening hit the head of a minor girl with a hammer in Talegaon (Pune). An offence has been filed at the Talegaon Dabhade police station in this connection. The accused has been identified as Shivam Shelke (20), a resident of Talegaon Dabhade.

The youth was upset that the victim had filed an eve-teasing complaint against him with the police. The accused said, “I will not leave you alive. I will kill you.” Then he hit her head with a hammer. The minor girl was seriously injured in the attack. She was hospitalised.

According to the police, the victim is 17 years old. She had lodged a complaint against Shelke with the police. He was upset over this and assaulted the girl with the hammer.

The police registered an offence and are investigating further.

BJP spokesperson Chitra Wagh has posted a tweet in this regard. She tweeted: “A mentally deranged person was often eve-teasing a minor girl in Talegaon. She frequently filed complaints with the police. However, the police neither took a note of this nor action. He hit the hammer in her head in the middle of a market in broad daylight. Had the police taken a note of her plaints, the incident could have been avoided. Take immediate action against the inactive police.”
