Woman tries to extort Rs 20 lakh from senior citizen; case lodged at Vishrambaug police station

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime | A man told a senior citizen that he had taken a divorce because of him and his wife has committed suicide. The couple threatened a senior citizen and tried to extort Rs 20 lakh from him. (Pune Crime)

 

A 73-year-old senior citizen staying in Karve Nagar has lodged a complaint at the Vishrambaug police station. Accordingly, the police have filed an FIR against Amit Shinde (38) and Snehal Shinde alias Amrole (32). The incident took place in Sadashiv Peth from July 6 to July 26.

 

According to the police, the complainant stays in Karve Nagar. The accused were working for him. The accused told the senior citizen that they had been divorced because of him and demanded Rs 20 lakh from him. Snehal Shinde threatened to commit suicide if he did not pay up. The complainant ignored her threat.

 

After a few days, Amit Shinde went to the residence of senior citizen and lied to him that Snehal Shinde had committed suicide.

 

He also told him that a case was lodged against him at the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station. Amit Shinde demanded Rs two lakh to delete his name from the case. Shinde called up the senior citizen and demanded Rs six lakh. The senior citizen realised that Amit Shinde was lying and lodged a complaint with the police.
