Woman kills her son by throttling him in Junnar taluka

Pune/Junnar : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | A shocking incident of a woman killing her son by throttling him has taken place in Junnar taluka of Pune district. The police investigation has revealed the reason why the woman killed her son and it has shocked everyone.

The incident took place in an area near Yedgaon in Junnar taluka. The arrested woman has been identified as Vidya Kadam. She throttled her 13-year-old son at 4.30 am on January 20, 2022. She tied a lace of her skirt around his neck and tried to kill him. The boy was sleeping and started suffocating because his neck was stifled.

The boy was admitted to a private hospital in Narayangaon and later to the Sassoon General Hospital. On January 27, 2022, the boy died during treatment. The woman gave false information to the authorities of the Sassoon General Hospital and performed the last rites.

After the police received the boy’s medical documents, they smelt a rat during the preliminary investigation. Vidya Kadam was summoned to the Narayangaon police station for questioning but she gave evasive answers.

The police were suspicious that Vidya was hiding something after listening to her replies. She was grilled and she admitted throttling her son with a lace because he was a stumbling block in her extramarital affair.

The boy’s father Sachin Shankar Kadam filed a complaint in the Narayangaon police station on February 17, 2022. The police have arrested the accused woman and API Prithviraj Tate is investigating the case.
