Two brothers among three drown in lake at Daund
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | Three youths who went for a photo shoot to the Daund Municipality’s water storage lake drowned in it. The deceased have been identified as Asrar Alim Kazi (21), Karim Abdul Hazi Farid Kazi (20) and Atiq Ujzama Farid Shaikh (20), all residents of Daund. The incident took place on Daund-Kurkumbh road near More Vasti on the Daund Municipalty’s water storage lake on Sunday evening. (Pune Crime )
Asrar and Karim are cousins. They, along with Atiq, went for an outing on Sunday on a two-wheeler. As they did not return home for a long time, their family members tried to contact them. However, they could not be contacted. Their families knew that they had gone to the lake. Therefore, they searched for the youths in the vicinity of the lake. They found their two-wheeler, clothes and a bag near the lake.
The police and villagers suspected drowning. Hence, they searched for the bodies in the lake water. Later, their bodies were found. Two of the three youths could not swim. Nobody knows how the incident happened. The police suspect that since two of them could not swim, the third one, who could swim, tried to save them from drowning. However, all three drowned in the lake.
