Team from DCP’s office acts against illegal activities in city, action taken against 32 people

Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | Despite a warning issued by CP Amitabh Gupta and Joint CP Dr Ravindra Shisve that the senior PI will be held responsible for any illegal activities in his area, illegal gambling continues unabated in the jurisdiction of Yerawada police station. Later, a team from DCP Rohidas Pawar’s office raided two places and took action against 32 people.

CP Amitabh Gupta and Joint CP Dr Ravindra Shisve had issued orders that immediate action should be taken against illegal activities. They again reminded police officers about this order in a meeting held last week. They had also warned that the senior PI will be held responsible for wrongdoings in his area. The action has been taken after the meeting.

A team of DCP Rohidas Pawar’s office came to know on February 19 that gambling was taking place in a closed room above the carrom house of Sunny Machre in Kanjar Bhat Vasti in Yerawada.

The team raided the place and found that 19 people were busy in gambling. The police took action against the 19 people. Seven mobiles, Rs 14,340 cash totalling Rs 24,340 was seized from them. This matter is being discussed in a hush hush manner in the police force and later, outsiders also came to know about it.

After this action, a team of DCP Rohidas Pawar’s office came to know that there was a gambling joint near Mahalaxmi Lawns in the jurisdiction of Vimantal police station. The police raided the place and found that 13 people were busy gambling. The police took action against them and seized material and cash worth Rs 14,100.

A team from DCP’s office is taking action where illegal activities are taking place in zone 4. Two actions have been taken in the limits of Yerawada and Vimantal police stations. DCP Rohidas Pawar said the team will act against illegal activities taking place in any area.
