Pune Crime | RTI activist booked for demanding Rs 25 lakh ransom from woman corporator

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime | An RTI activist demanded Rs 25 lakh ransom from a woman corporator’s husband by blackmailing him. He threatened the public representative that he would complain about illegal construction done by her and would defame her on social media. The activist, Jitendra Ashok Bhosale, a resident of Viman Nagar, has been booked for extortion. Bhosale was involved in three extortion cases and three other crimes earlier. (Pune Crime)

 

According to the police, Jitendra Bhosale procures details under the RTI and blackmails people. He had lodged complaints with the Pune Municipal Corporation and the PMRDA about the alleged illegal construction done by the corporator and demanded cancellation of her post.

 

The PMRDA conducted an inquiry based on his complaint and found that no illegal construction was done by the corporator. Even after this, he had threatened to defame the corporator and her husband on social media and demanded the ransom. He met him personally on August 25 and demanded Rs 25 lakh. A complaint was lodged at the Vimantal police station. However, no action was taken. So, the complainant approached the Anti-Extortion Squad.

 

PI Balaji Pandhare investigated the matter and registered the offence at the Vimantal police station. PSI Jadhav is investigating further.
