Pune police arrest murder accused from Bihar

Pune : NpNews24 Online The Pune police have arrested a murder accused from Bihar where he was hiding after killing a woman and throwing her body in the bathroom of a house. The murder, which took place due to an extramarital affair, had come to light on February 6 in the jurisdiction of Vimantal police station. (Pune Crime)

 

Gulab Mohammad Mukhtar Sheikh (32), a resident of Pathare Vasti, Sant Nagar, Lohegaon and hailing from Bihar, has been identified as the accused. The victim’s husband has filed a complaint at the Vimantal police station.

 

Gulab was staying in the victim’s house at Moze Ali as a tenant. They started having an affair and when the family members of the woman came to know about this, they asked Gulab to vacate the house.

 

On the day of the incident, Gulab came to the house when the victim was alone. When she refused to comply with his demands, he throttled her and threw the body in the bathroom and escaped.

 

After a technical analysis based on the mobile number, police inspector Mangesh Jagtap came to know that Gulab was trying to escape to Bihar by train. A team of police officials was sent to Bihar and a team of local police and Pune police surrounded his house. Gulab tried to escape but the police caught him after a chase.

 

The action was taken by a team of police officials including police inspector Mangesh Jagtap, API Milind Pathak, PSI SA Jadhav and policemen Ramesh Lohkare, Kiran Khude, Umesh Dhende, Vinod Mahajan, Kiran Abdagire, Rihan Pathan, Nana Karche and Rupesh Todekar under the guidance from CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Dr Ravindra Shisve, Additional CP Namdev Chavan, DCP Rohidas Pawar, ACP Kishor Jadhav and Senior PI Bharat Jadhav.
