One of the injured in Kailash crematorium burning incident succumbs to his injuries

The accused has been identified as Ganesh Sarjerao Ransingh (49), a resident of Dattavihar, Avhalwadi, Vadjai, Wagholi. The person who had a kerosene can in his hand, Anil Basanna Shinde (53), a resident of Tadiwala Road, died while undergoing medical treatment.

 

Prateek Deepak Kamble (24), a resident of Mahatma Phule Vasahat, Tadiwala Road has filed a complaint at the Bund Garden police station. On April 30, at 6.45 pm, the last rites of Deepak Kamble were being held at the Kailash crematorium. The funeral pyre had been lit. Some men and women were sitting at a distance. Ganesh Ransingh took the kerosene can from Anil Shinde and started pouring the kerosene from the can on the pyre. A powerful flame was ignited and the can started burning. He threw the can and it fell on the relatives who were sitting near the pyre. Eleven people were injured and they were being treated in Sassoon and a private hospital. Anil Shinde died while undergoing medical treatment and two others are in a serious condition.
