Notorious goons Gajya Marane, Rupesh Marane, Sangli ZP former member Hemant Patil, Pappu Gholap from Dhankawadi among 10 booked for demanding Rs 20 crore ransom
NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | Notorious goon Gajanan alias Gajya Marne and nine others have been booked for kidnapping and beating a businessman and demanding ransom from him. Marne and his accomplices demanded Rs 20 crore from the trader as returns on Rs 4 crore they invested in share market through the victim. Four of the accused have been arrested by the Anti-Extortion Squad 2 of the Crime Branch of Pune Police. Two teams have been formed to nab the culprits. (Pune Crime)
Gajya Marane called up the businessman on another mobile number after his kidnapping and threatened him to settle the matter, failing which he would be killed.
The 33-year-old businessman, a resident of Nanded City, lodged a complaint at the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station. Hemant Patil, Feroz Shaikh, Amar Kirdat, Pappu Ghohap, Rupesh Marne, a woman and others have also been booked in this regard. The incident happened in front of ICICI Bank at Katraj from October 7 to October 8. (Pune Crime)
Gajanan alias Gajya Pandharinath Marne, resident of Kothrud, and his aides Rupesh Krushnarao Marne, resident of Kothrud, Sachin alias Pappu Dattatray Gholap, resident of Dhankawadi, Amar Shivaji Kirdat, resident of Satara, Hemant Balaji Patil from Sangli district, Feroz Muhammad Shaikh from Satara district, an unidentified woman and 3-4 others have been booked under the sections 394, 364(A), 386, 387, 388, 120 (B) of the IPC.
According to the police, the complainant is a real estate agent and share trader. Patil had given him Rs 4 crore to invest in the share market.
Gholap, Patil, Shaikh and Kirdat have been arrested by the Anti-Extortion Squad 2 of the Crime Branch, Pune. The police have launched a manhunt for the other accused. PSI Mohandas Jadhav is investigating.
Gajya Marne and other accused were earlier booked for serious crimes such as murder, attempt to murder, robbery, damaging public property, possessing a pistol, etc, in Pune city and district and other districts too. Gajya Marne has been booked in 31 cases, Rupesh Marne in 15, Gholap in eight, Patil has five cases against him while Kirdat was involved in one.
This action was taken under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Jt CP Joint Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Srinivas Ghadge and ACP Narayan Shirgaonkar. PI Balaji Pandhare,PI Inspector Hemant Patil, API Changdev Sajjanne, API Shailaja Jankar, PSI Mohandas Jadhav, PSI Shrikant Chavan, PSI Avinash Lahote, police personnel Vijay Gurav, Pradip Shitole, Shailesh Surve, Rahul Uttarkar, Vinod Saluke, Anil Mengde, Pramod Tilekar, Sangram Shingar, Sachin Ahiwale, Saidoba Bhojrao, Surendra Sabale, Amol Pilane, Chetan Apte, Chentan Shorolkar, Pradip Gade, Surendra Sable, Vinod Shivale, Akbar Shaikh, Pavan Bhosale, Ravi Sapkal, Asha Kolekar and Rupali Karnavar took part in the action.
