Pune Crime | Notorious gangster, 8 aides slapped with MCOCA; 78th action so far by Police Chief Amitabh Gupta
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Police Chief Amitabh Gupta is taking action against various criminal gangs by using MCOCA. Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta has taken action against Adesh Pandurang Biramane, who had spread terror in Sahakar Nagar police station area and his eight aides, under the provisions of MCOCA Act. Police Chief Gupta has taken action against 78 gangs so far and 15 gangs in the current year.
The gang leader, Adesh Pandurang Biramane (24), a resident of Durga Society, Dhankawadi, aide Sandip Somnath Shendkar (23), a resident of Balajinagar, Dhankawadi, Salman alias Salya Hameed Shaikh (23), a resident of Balajinagar, Dhankawadi, Afan Bashir Sheikh (20), a resident of Gulmohar Apartment, Dhankawadi, Saurabh Shivaji Bhagat (23), a resident of Heramb Apartment, Dhankawadi, Hrishikesh /Sunny Anil Shinde (21), a resident of Upper Indiranagr, Bibvewadi, Sufian Bashir Shaikh (19), a resident of Balajinagar, Dhankawadi, Rajkumar Shamlal Pardeshi (23), a resident of near Rajni Corner, Dhankawadi and two minors have been slapped with provisions of MCOCA Act.
Various cases of attempted murder, kidnapping, robbery, riots, serious injury, assault on public servants, violating externment rules, posing threat to people’s lives are registered against accused Biramane and his nine aides.
Senior PI of Sahakar Nagar police station Savlaram Salgaonkar submitted a proposal of taking action against Biramane and his aides to Addl CP Rajendra Dahale via DCP Sushma Chavan and DCP Sagar Patil. Since Addl CP Dahale gave a green signal to the proposal, action was taken against the accused and his aides under MCOCA.
Further investigation is being carried out by ACP RN Raje.
Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta has taken strong measures to control crime after taking charge. Gangs which carry out various crimes have been slapped with MCOCA Act. Until now, action against 78 gangs has been taken and 15 gangs so far in this year.
The action was under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Rajendra Dahale, DCP Sushma Chavan by Senior PI Savlaram Salgaonkar.
