Notorious criminal trying to sell drugs arrested by Vimantal police; Mephedrone worth Rs 1 crore seized

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime | A notorious criminal from Jalgaon who had come to Pune to sell drugs was arrested by the Vimantal police after laying a trap. Mephedrone worth Rs one crore and weighing 714 gm was seized from the accused. The action was taken on July 28 near Symbiosis College in Viman Nagar. (Pune Crime)

 

The accused has been identified as Arvind Ravindra Birhade (26), a resident of Jalgaon district. An FIR has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act at the Vimantal police station.

 

The police naik of Vimantal police station, Sachin Jadhav, came to know that a person was going to come near Symbiosis College to sell drugs. The police laid a trap and apprehended Arvind Birhade. When he was searched, Mephedrone weighing 714 gm worth Rs 1 crore 7 lakh 10 thousand was found on him. The police have seized the drug. The police are probing from where he procured the drug.

 

Arvind Birhade is a notorious criminal and seven cases of attempted murder, rape, extortion, theft are registered at Amalner police station. He was absconding in an attempt to murder case.

 

This action was taken by a team of officials including PSI Ravindra Dhaware, policemen Avinash Shewale, Sachin Kadam, Sachin Jadhav, Pradeep Mote, Rupesh Pisal, Girish Nanekar, Ankush Jogdande and Sanjay Aswale under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Namdev Chavan, DCP Rohidas Pawar, ACP Kishor Jadhav, senior PI Bharat Jadhav and PI Mangesh Jagtap.
