Pune Crime News | Woman sets husband on fire in Yerwada

PUNE: Pune Crime News | A woman poured kerosene on her husband and set him on fire over a dispute over admission of their daughter in a school. The woman’s husband has received 50 per cent burn injuries and is being treated at Sassoon General Hospital.

 

The injured man has been identified as Mukesh Suresh Rajput (42), a resident of Yerwada. The police have arrested his wife Ujjwala Dattatray Kamble (44) and Rajesh Jagtap (55), a resident of Shastri Nagar, Yerwada. The incident took place at MHADA Colony in Shastri Nagar on Tuesday at 7.30 pm.

According to the information given by the Yerwada police, the accused Ujjwala and Mukesh are husband and wife. Ujjwala is the second wife of her husband.

 

They have a five-year-old daughter and they were having arguments over their daughter’s admission and the fee.

When the complainant, Mukesh was waiting in an autorickshaw in MHADA Colony, he saw that Rajesh Jagtap was going to his house. He asked his wife Ujjwala whether she still liked Jagtap. She had an argument with her husband and it escalated into a major row. At that time, Rajesh Jagtap and Ujjwala brought a can of kerosene from the house and poured kerosene on Mukesh Rajput and set him on fire with a lighter.

 

 

Both Ujjwala and Rajesh Jagtap ran away in the autorickshaw. Mukesh was seriously injured and he was admitted to a hospital by local residents. The Yerwada police have registered an FIR of attempted murder and arrested Jagtap and Ujjwala.
