Pune Crime News | Woman arrested for cheating three people of ₹59,000
PUNE : Pune Crime News | An incident has been reported wherein a woman cheated three persons by promising them that she will procure a loan of ₹5 lakh without interest from a public service organisation connected with Adar Poonawalla because she was an activist and a member of his public service organisation. An FIR has been registered against the woman at the Market Yard police station and she has been arrested.
The arrested accused has been identified as Sakina Taher Poonawalla (32), a resident of Kondhwa. Ankush Dandappa Bajlor (40), a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, has lodged a complaint at the Market Yard police station. When the complainant was at home, Sakina Poonawalla went to his house and told him that she was an activist and a member of Poonawalla’s public service organisation.
She told the complainant that she will procure an interest-free loan of ₹5 lakh from the organisation.
Sakina Poonawalla took ₹17,000 from the complainant, ₹25,000 from Irfan Shaikh and ₹17,000 from a woman. Sakina gave them fake cheques of Bank of Baroda and cheated them of ₹59,000. The complainant lodged a complaint at the Market Yard police station and an FIR was registered.
The police arrested Sakina Poonawalla on Tuesday afternoon. PSI Chetan Bhosale has informed that the accused has been taken to the court.
