Pune: Pune Crime News | A woman has been apprehended by the Central Customs Department (Customs) at Pune International Airport for attempting to smuggle gold concealed in her private parts. The seized gold is valued at Rs 20 lakh 30 thousand. It has been uncovered that the woman had packed gold powder into a capsule and concealed it in her genital area. The Customs Department has arrested a 41-year-old woman and filed a case against her under the Customs Act. The woman arrived on a flight from Dubai at Pune International Airport.
The woman appeared to be in distress while attempting to leave the airport, arousing suspicion from the customs team. They initiated an investigation and conducted a search with the assistance of female customs officers. During the search, it was discovered that the woman had concealed a capsule containing gold dust in her genitals. Subsequently, the woman was taken to the hospital, where she underwent an X-ray examination. A total of 423 grams and 41 milligrams of gold powder, valued at Rs 20 lakh 30 thousand, was confiscated from the woman.
