Pune Crime News | Vimantal police arrest gang of criminals for absconding after hiring SUV

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  Pune Crime News | The Vimantal police have arrested a gang of criminals who disappeared with an Innova Crysta SUV after hiring it from My Car app. The police have arrested six people from Shirur, Shikrapur, Nashik and Nagpur and seized an Innova Crysta from them. A businessman, Nilesh Rohidas Nimbalkar, has lodged a complaint at the Viman Nagar police station. (Pune Crime News)

The accused have been identified as Rohit Sandip Darekar, Akash Raosaheb Potghan alais Bhadange, Ganesh Ramlal Mali, Sourabh Vikram Havle, Mrunal Prakash Sorde, Rakesh Devendra Pawar. The complainant, Nilesh Nimbalkar, has a tourist business. He had given an Innova Crysta SUV for nine days. To hire the SUV, Rohit Darekar had used Aadhaar Card, PAN card and cheque book which he had found in an Eco car, which he had stolen.

The accused had disappeared after hiring the SUV.
The Vimantal police secured CDR of the mobiles of the accused and arrested Rohit Darekar from Shirur after a technical investigation. A police custody was taken of the accused and he was grilled. He admitted that he had committed the crime with the help of his aides Akash Potghan, Ganesh Mali and Sourabh Havle. Accordingly, the police arrested the accused from Shikrapur and Nashik.

The accused told the police that they had handed over the SUV to Mrunal Sorde and Rakesh Pawar for selling it. A team of Vimantal police was sent to Nagpur. The team traced the accused in Nagpur and arrested them and seized the vehicle. An FIR of vehicle theft is registered against Rohit Darekar and Akash Potghan at the Chakan police station. Akash Potghan is an absconding accused in a cheating case registered at the Akluj police station.

The action was taken under the guidance of CP Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma, DCP Shashikant Borate and ACP Kishor Jadhav by Sr PI Vilas Sonde, PI Sangeeta Mali, API Vijay Chandan, PSI Ravindra Dhavre, policemen Avinash Shewale, Ankush Jogdande, Girish Nanekar, Dadasaheb Barde, Rupesh Pisal, Nana Karche, Sachin Jadhav, Sachin Kadam, Yogesh Thopte and Dnyanshwar Avari.
