Pune Crime News | Pune Rural Police arrest Kolhapur-based gang of criminals; Seize gold and silver ornaments worth ₹25 lakh
PUNE : Pune Crime News | The LCB Pune Rural of Pune Rural Police and Yavat police arrested a gang of criminals from Kolhapur who had robbed people who were carrying a courier containing gold and silver ornaments by spraying their face with a chemical in the limits of Mouje Kashil village.
Ornaments worth ₹24.72 lakh were seized from the five-member gang.
The arrested accused have been identified as Sarfraz Salim Nadaf (34), Maruti Laxman Misal (31), both residents of Kolhapur district, Suraj Bajirao Kamble (24), Karan Sayaji Kamble (23), both residents of Kolhapur district and Garav Sunil Ghadge (23), a resident of Kolhapur district. The complainants were going to Pune from Satara and were carrying a parcel containing gold and silver ornaments.
The accused had robbed the complainants by spraying their face on the bridge in the limits of Mouje Kashil village in Satara district. Senior officials had informed Police Inspector Hemant Shendge that the accused were travelling in an Innova on the Pune-Solapur highway in the limits of Yavat police station. PI Hemant Shedge formed a team including API Sunil Lokhande, API Wable and other policemen and sent them to Kasurdi toll naka for naka bandi. The accused were arrested after a chase.
The police have seized 18.5 kg silver ornaments, 79.45 gm gold ornaments, Innova car, pistol, knife, mobile, worth ₹24.72 lakh. The arrested accused have been handed over to officials of Borgaon police station in Satara district.
