Pune Crime News | Man sets another man on fire in Shaniwar Peth; Incident takes place near Mutheswar temple

PUNE : Pune Crime News | A person tried to set another person on fire by throwing an inflammable substance on him. Milind Siddhapa Hoskuti (38), a resident of Khadki, has received burn injuries. The Vishrambaug police have arrested Balmukund Pandit (59), a resident of Bibvewadi. The incident took place at the library located above Mutheswar temple in Shaniwar Peth on Monday at 12.45 am.

 

According to the police, the complainant and the accused are kniwn to each other and are vagabonds. Since the complainant was late in going home, he had come to Mutheswar temple to sleep. He had a row with Pandit over sleeping in the area and the latter abused him and threatened to kill him.

 

The complainant slept in the library located adjacent to the temple. While he was sleeping, Pandit placed an inflammable substance on his body and set it on fire. He received injuries on his chest and hands. The police have registered an FIR of attempt to murder and have arrested Pandit. API Nikumbh is probing the case.
