Pune Crime News | Man accused of raping minor at Pimpri in Pune gets 20 years in jail & Rs 50,000 fine

Pune: Pune Crime News | The Pune Sessions Court on Monday, July 24 after taking the medical evidence and arguments made by the government lawyers in the account sentenced the man accused of raping minor a 20 years jail and also a fine of Rs 50,000.

 

Sessions Judge K.P.Nandekar gave this verdict. The incident took place between January and December 2016 at a minor girl’s house. The father of the 15-year-old girl filed a complaint in the Pimpri police station. The accused is a relative of the victim.

 

The accused used to stay at the girl’s house for some work. During his stay at house he raped the girl several times. The girl’s mother is handicapped. Also in the prosecution it is mentioned that the girl did not tell about this incident at home as her mother was handicapped.

 

The case was handled by assistant district public prosecutor Maruti Wadekar and he was assisted by public prosecutors Sandhya Kale and Arundhati Bramhe. The then sub-inspector of police R.P.Kulthe investigated this crime. As per the order the fine amount of Rs 50,000 should be given to the girl also if the amount is not paid, then the accused will have to undergo additional imprisonment of one year, the verdict states.

 

The crime came into light on December 21, 2016 when the girl’s stomach started paining and her family members gave her stomach pain pills as per the doctor’s advice, but even after taking the pills she was suffering a pain and next day in the morning at around 10 am she gave birth to a baby. The girl was admitted to the hospital and while in hospital she told her family about the ordeal. After that the girl’s father filed a complaint against the accused at Pimpri police station.

 

Girl identified the accused during the identification parade. During the cross-examination the girl told the court about the ordeal. And she also informed the court that her age as well as the accused name has been mentioned wrong.

 

Sessions Judge Nandekar said, ” It is clear from the documents filed in the court that the age of the girl was less than 16 years and also there is medical evidence that the accused is the father of the born baby. Accepting the arguments the court gave this verdict. The medical evidence became important to prove the crime.”
