Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | The Bibvewadi police arrested Mukesh Rathod, who demanded money from MLA Madhuri Misal on the pretext of medical treatment of his mother and cheated her. (Pune Crime)
MLA Misal’s daughter Pooja Misal had lodged a complaint at the Bibvewadi police station in this regard. Rathod, along with his accomplices, had also tried to dupe three more women MLAs. Rathod hails from Buldana. The police were searching for him for the past three days. They traced him in Aurangabad.
According to the police, Rathod called up Misal. He told her that his mother was admitted to a hospital in Baner and needed money for her treatment. Then he sent a Google Pay number and asked her to transfer Rs 3,400. Misal sent the money. Rathod also tried to extract money in a similar manner from other women MLAs and colleagues of Misal, namely – Meghana Bordikar Sakore, Devyani Farande and Shweta Mahale. However, these women MLAs got suspicious about Rathod and did not send money.
