Minor boy drowns in swimming pool in Wanawadi

Pune : NpNews24 Online Pune Crime | A minor boy who had gone for a swim in a pool to beat the heat has drowned. The incident happened on Sunday at 2 pm in Bapusaheb Kedari swimming pool at Wanawadi. The boy has been identified as Ganesh Pundalik Patole (17), a resident of lane number 7, behind Sarvade Vasti, Sathe Nagar, Mohammadwadi. Ganesh had gone for a swim with his friends Rehan and Ajay at the swimming pool owned by the civic body. (Pune Crime)

 

Since Rehan does know how to swim, he stayed in the water for a short while and came out. Ajay and Ganesh had recently learnt how to swim and they went to the deep area of the pool. Since the water was dirty, Ajay started facing problems while swimming. Hence, Ajay came out after some time and changed his clothes. However, Ganesh did not come out for a long time. When they searched for him, he could not be located. Ajay and Rehan informed the guards who searched the pool but failed to find him.

 

The water level in the pool was reduced and it was found that Ganesh had drowned. Ajay, Rehan and the guards gave him first aid and took him to a hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.

 

Ganesh hailed from a poor family. His father is a security guard and mother is a farm labourer. He has a younger brother. The family stays in Sathe Nagar area. Ganesh was studying in Sadhana College in std XI. He was good at studies.
