Man held for killing woman after spiking her cold drink in Hadapsar
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | A woman was killed by putting sleeping pills in her soft drink and her jewellery, mobile and ATM card were stolen on Sunday at Vaiduwadi in Hadapsar area. A team of unit 5 of the crime branch arrested the accused Kisan Sitaram Jagtap (46), within 10 hours of the incident and solved the case. The accused wanted money for his daughter’s marriage and hatched a plan after watching the serial Crime Patrol. (Pune Crime)
Swati Laxman Kamble, a resident of Markandeya Nagar, Vaiduwadi, Hadapsar has filed a complaint at the Hadapsar police station. The police had filed a case under sections 302 and 394 of the IPC and were searching for the accused. When a team of unit 5 of the crime branch was conducting the probe, a policeman came to know that the mobile of the deceased was in possession of Kisan Sitaram Jagtap (46), a resident of Belsar, Purandar taluka and after an initial probe, it was found that Jagtap had committed the crime. When the police launched a search, they found him standing in front of his house. He tried to run away but the police arrested him.
When the accused was grilled, he admitted committing the crime. When he was staying in Hadapsar Malwadi in 2009, he got acquainted with the woman and used to speak to her regularly. He wanted money for his daughter’s marriage. After watching the serial Crime Patrol, he planned the murder. He told the police he had planned the murder three months ago.
The accused arrived at Hadapsar Gadital at 11.30 pm on April 9. He purchased a bottle of a soft drink and went to the woman’s house. He pretended to talk with her and put sleeping tablets in the bottle and told the woman to drink it. After she became drowsy, he banged her head on the wall and killed her. He took her gold ornaments, mobile, ATM card and scattered some belongings on the sofa and went away. A team of unit 5 of the Crime Branch investigated the crime and arrested the accused within 10 hours.
The action was taken by a team of police officers including PI Hemant Patil, API Krishna Babar, policemen Ramesh Sable, Mahesh Waghmare, Ashruba Morale, Pramod Tilekar, Pravin Kalbhor, Vishal Bhilare, Akbar Sheikh, Dawood Sayyad, Vilas Khandare and Prithviraj Pandule under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Jt CP Dr Ravindra Shisve, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Srinivas Ghadge and ACP Gajanan Tompe.
