Man held for extorting Rs 10 lakh from student, accused arrested by Chatuhshrungi police

Pune : NpNews24 OnlinePune Crime | An incident has come to light wherein a youth studying in an engineering college was threatened that he will be killed and Rs 10 lakh was extorted from him. The accused took Rs 10 lakh and demanded Rs 2 lakh. The police have arrested the accused and filed an FIR against his aide after a complaint was registered at Chatuhshrungi police station.

 

The accused has been identified as Amar Suryakant Pol, a resident of Khandoli village, Ahmedpur taluka, Latur district. His aide has been identified as Karan Madhukar Kokane, a resident of Amarkunj Society, Hadapsar) and a case has been filed against him. A 23-year-old youth has filed a complaint at the Chatuhshrungi police station.

 

According to the police, the complainant is studying in an engineering college in Pune. He came to know Amar Pol through a friend. He demanded Rs 50 lakh from the complainant for social media business. He refused to give the money to Pol. Pol threatened to kill him by saying, “Why don’t you give money to me? Don’t you think your life is important? I will not allow you to study in Pune and I will finish you.”

 

The accused Pol took Rs 5 lakh from the accused. His aide Karan Kokane took Rs 5 lakh from another youth. They gave an assurance that they will return the money. Later, they demanded Rs 2 lakh from the complainant who approached the police and filed a complaint. The police have arrested Amar Pol. Senior Police Inspector Rajkumar Waghchaure of Chatuhshrungi police station is guiding PSI Mohan Jadhav in the case.
