The arrested accused has been identified as Sachin Kashinath Gawhane, a resident of Rajgurunagar. A case has been filed against his wife. RTO Ajit Shinde has lodged a complaint at the Bund Garden police station. The incident took place between May 10, 2021 and June 27, 2022.

According to the police, the brother of accused Sachin Gawhane submitted the documents of Sachin’s truck by forging his signature to the Deputy RTO in Pimpri Chinchwad. He got the truck transferred to Vishal Tawre. Sachin Gawhane had filed a complaint at the Bhosari MIDC police station. Accordingly, a case was filed against his brother Samir and then Assistant RTO Subodh Mirchikar, other officials and staff. The case has been filed in 2019.

The police carried out an investigation and sought permission of Transport Commissioner Mumbai to file a chargesheet. The application is pending with the transport commissioner. Sachin has sent emails to various government offices and complained against RTO officials and staff.

He regularly sends emails seeking permission for the filing of chargesheet against the accused. Since last year, he went to the office of accused Ajit Shinde and sought Rs one crore from the officials and staff to stop the complaints made against the officials.

Shinde initially ignored the demands but Sachin himself fixed an amount of Rs 85 lakh and frequently told Shinde to hand over the amount. When Shinde refused to pay up, Sachin threatened Shinde.

Sachin sent an email to the accused and other government offices on June 1 and insulted the constitution. He also made obscene comments against the accused.

Hence, Shinde finally lodged a complaint with the police. The police have arrested him after slapping with charges under sections 385, 500, 34 and IT Act 67.
