Interstate gang busted for running sex racket in Pune, two arrested

Pune : NpNews24 OnlinePune Crime | The social security cell, Pune has exposed a sex racket wherein girls were being supplied for prostitution by using tourist cars. Two girls have been rescued and the kingpin of the racket has been arrested. The action was taken at East Field Hotel in Viman Nagar. The accused were supplying girls through cars by calling them tourist cars.

 

The accused have been identified as Kuldip Prasad Mohan Prasad Mahato (26), a resident of Thane and hailing from Choparan, Itkori taluka, Hazaribagh district, Jharkhand and Jaishankar Prasad Ramesh Saw (20), a resident of Mumbai and hailing from Jharkhand. An FIR has been registered against the accused at the Yerawada police station.

 

The police came to know that two suspicious persons were moving in a tourist car and they were supplying girls by pretending it to be a tourist car. The social security cell asked a decoy customer to speak to the accused. He was asked to book two rooms at East Field Hotel in Viman Nagar.

 

A trap was laid by booking two rooms in the hotel. The accused arrived at the hotel with two girls in a tourist car (MH04-JK6988). The police conducted a raid and arrested two people and rescued two girls. When the accused were questioned, they admitted that they were forcing girls into prostitution by pretending to drive a tourist car in Pune.

 

The action was taken by a team of police officials including Senior Police Inspector Arvind Mane, PSI Sridhar Khadke, policemen Rajendra Kumawat, woman police constable Rajashree Mohite, Manisha Pukale, police naik Anna Mane, Pramod Mohite, Hanamant Kamble, Irfan Pathan and Pushpendra Chavan under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Jt CP Dr Ravindra Shisve and Addl CP Ramnath Pokale and DCP Srinivas Ghadge.
