Income Tax complaint: Bid to extort Rs 10 lakh from famous doctor in Pune
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | An incident has come to light in Pune wherein a famous doctor was threatened that he will have to pay Rs 10 lakh to hush up a complaint received against him by the Income Tax department. (Pune Crime)
A CEO of a big hospital has lodged a complaint at the Hadapsar police station. Based on the complaint, an FIR has been registered against Srikant Pandhre (45), his aide and Kishor Jadhav (who had called from a mobile).
According to the police, the complainant was in the hospital on Friday evening. A person who identified himself as Srikant Pandhre came to his office with an aide. Pandhre informed the doctor that there was a complaint against him at the Income Tax department. Kishor Jadhav called up the doctor on his mobile. He told the doctor that he will have to pay Rs 10 lakh to hush up the matter and threatened action by the I-T department if he refused to pay up. The doctor immediately informed the Hadapsar police station and lodged a complaint. The police have registered a case of extortion and API Shinde is investigating the case.
