Pune Crime | Girl takes online loan; defamed by fraudsters
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | A shocking incident has been reported wherein morphed photographs of a girl were sent to people in her contact list even after she had repaid a loan taken through a loan app. (Pune Crime)
A 19-year-old girl residing in Yerawada has lodged a complaint at the Yerawada police station. A case of molestation, extortion, threats and according to the IT Act against unknown persons has been registered at the Yerawada police station.
According to the police, the girl is working in a finance company. She had received a link about an online loan. After downloading the link, she filled her personal information on the app. She got a loan based on that. Later, she received two separate links. She clicked on that and secured a loan after filling up her personal details.
She took a loan of Rs 13,000 through Handy Loan and Future Wallet app. She repaid the loan on time but she started getting calls from various numbers regarding repayment of the loan. She was asked to pay more money. However, since she had repaid the loan, she did not respond to the calls.
Since the girl was not responding, the callers morphed her naked photo on WhatsApp but she ignored that. However, the callers did not stop at that. They hacked her contact list and sent her morphed naked photos to everyone on her contact list and defamed her. After the girl came to know about this, she approached the Yerawada police station and lodged a complaint. A case has been registered and PI Uttam Chakre and policeman Adinath Khedkar are investigating the case.
