Pune Crime | Gang of two-wheeler thieves arrested, Ale Phata police seize 45 two-wheelers worth Rs 23 lakh

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime | A gang of robbers who were involved in several robberies and stealing of many two-wheelers were arrested by the Ale Phata police. The police have seized 45 two-wheelers worth Rs 23 lakh and brought to light 34 crimes. The Ale Phata police, who were investigating a robbery case, arrested four persons and seized goods worth Rs 23 lakh. (Pune Crime)

The accused have been identified as Pramod Laxman Sarkunde (26), Dnyaneshwar Ranganath Bibve (22), Ganesh Fakkad Karkhile (23), all residents of Nighoj, District Ahmednagar, Adil Mukhtar Ahmed Qureshi (21), a resident of Nighoj and hailing from Balrampur district, Uttar Pradesh.

Shantabai Baban Pavde was standing on the Nagar-Kalyan highway on May 29 at 3.30 pm at Gunjalwadi in Ale Phata police station limits and a person snatched her mangalsutra. A case had been lodged against an unknown person at the Ale Phata police station. The investigation team checked the CCTV footage at Ale Phata, Rajuri, Gunjalwadi and Belhe and also carried out a technical probe. They came to know that the accused were at Nighoj and apprehended Pramod Sarkunde and grilled him. He admitted committing the crime and handed over the stolen goods to them.

A case of vehicle theft had been registered against Pramod Sarkunde at the Tofkhana police station in 2021. Based on this information, the police carried out the investigation. The accused admitted committing the crime with the help of his aides Bibve, Karkhile and Qureshi. The police apprehended the three at Nighoj and grilled them. During the questioning, the accused admitted stealing two-wheelers from Ale Phata, Narayangaon, Otur, Shirur, Ranjangaon, Shikrapur, Pune city, Pimpri Chinchwad, Hingoli, Aurangabad and Nashik. The police brought to light 34 crimes by seizing 45 two-wheelers worth Rs 23 lakh and are searching for owners of the two-wheelers.

The action was taken by a team of police officials including PI Pramod Kshirsagar, API Sunil Badgujar, PSI Ragini Karale, ASI Chandrashekhar Dumbare, policemen Vinod Gaikwad, Bhima Londhe, Prakash Jadhar, Lahanu Bangar, Amit Malunje, Pankaj Parkhe, Sanjay Shingade, Popat Kokate, Hanumant Dhobale, Mohan Anandgaonkar, police mitra Pratik Jori and Namdev Pansare under the guidance of SP Dr Abhinav Deshmukh, Addl SP Mitesh Ghatte and Sub-Divisional police officer Junnar division Mandar Javle.

Further investigation is being carried out by API Sunil Badgujar and police naik Sanjay Shingade.
