Pune crime | Four, including dancer Vaishnavi Patil, booked for performing Lavani in Lal Mahal

Pune :  NpNews24 Online – Pune crime | The Faraskhana police have registered an offence against celebrity dancer Vaishnavi Patil for filming a Lavani performance in an open space on the premises of historic Lal Mahal.

 

Security guard at the heritage place Rakesh Sonawane (37), a resident of Mangalwar Peth, lodged a complaint in this regard. Besides Patil, a woman and two men have also been booked. The incident took place on April 16, 2022.

 

Patil performed a Lavani dance sequence in an open space on the premises of Lal Mahal while others shot it. This hurt the sentiments of people who respect Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Rajmata Jijau. The act also violated the sanctity of the place. The complainant tried to stop the shooting but he was not allowed to perform his duty. Hence, the offence has been registered.

 

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) condemned the act after a video of the performance went viral. The party threatened to agitate in front of Lal Mahal. The Sambhaji Brigade also submitted a petition to the Commissioner of Police. Now, the police have booked her.
