Pune crime | Five held in raid at gambling den in Hadapsar

Pune :NpNews24 Online – Pune crime |  The Social Security Cell of Crime Branch, Pune police raided an illegal gambling den at Vardhaman Township in Hadapsar and arrested five people and booked two others.

 

The arrested accused have been identified as gambling writers Shahrukh Mansur Shaikh (45) and Raju Ambadas Sherla (29), gamblers Laxman Mahadev Ramji (58), Parshuram Balu Kale (38), Bhagwat Balaji Damansore (27), all residents of Hadapsar. Owner of the den Baiju Binawat and manager Nitin Bhasme have been booked.

 

The Social Security Cell received a tip-off about the gambling den at Vardhaman Township. Thus, they raided the place and arrested five people. A cash of Rs 3,250, gambling equipment, five mobile phones, totally worth Rs 22,250 have been seized. An offence has been registered at the Hadapsar police station.

 

The action was taken under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale and DCP Shriniwas Ghadge. Senior PI Rajesh Puranik, PSI Supriya Pandharkar, police personnel Kumavat, Kamble, Pathan, Kekan and Chavan took part in the action.
