FIR filed against couple for cheating investor of Rs 3 crore

Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | A case of fraud has been reported wherein a man was told to invest in a partnership organisation and the funds were siphoned off and he was cheated of Rs 2-3 crore. The investor has filed a complaint against Rajesh Keshav Chavan and Kalpana Rajesh Chavan at the Dattawadi police station. The police have registered an FIR against the couple under sections 420, 406, 403, 418, 423, 464, 467, 468, 506 and 34 of the IPC. (Pune Crime)

Dilip Balchand Raisoni (66), a resident of Kondhwa Road, Bibvewadi has filed a complaint at the Dattawadi police station. The police have registered a case against the Chavans who stay in Sadashiv Peth. The incident took place between 2009 to 2016 at Gayatri Sadan at Sadashiv Peth.

According to the police, Rajesh Chavan won the confidence of the complainant and told him to invest money in a partnership organisation. The complainant trusted Chavan and invested the money.

The accused was handling the financial transactions of the organisation and used the money invested by the complainant for his personal benefit. He did not give any return to the investor and cheated him. He also transferred the flat owned by the organisation to his wife Kalpana Chavan.

The complaint says that the accused cheated the investor of Rs 2-3 crore. The Dattawadi police are investigating the case.
