Pune Crime | FDA raids illegal factory in Wanawadi, seizes 8,000 kg adulterated paneer

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  Pune Crime | The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) raided Tip Top Dairy Products in Wanawadi and seized adulterated paneer (cottage cheese) from the illegal factory premises. (Pune Crime)

It was revealed during the raid that 800 kg of adulterated paneer was stored in the factory. Material such as 350 kg skimmed milk and 270 kg palmolein oil was also stored. Thus valuables amounting to over Rs 3.29 lakh were confiscated.

Paneer is a perishable commodity. Hence, the seized stock was destroyed then and there. Samples of the seized paneer were sent to the lab for testing. Action will be taken after receiving a report. A team headed by Assistant Commissioner Balu Thakur, Food Safety Officer Nilesh Khose took the action.

Sub-standard eatables are sold during the festival season and consumers are cheated. If anyone comes across such practices, they may contact the toll-free number 1800 222 365 and lodge a complaint. The identity of the complainant will be protected, said Pune Division Joint Commissioner Sanjay Naragude.
