Now, cyber criminals are using a new method to cheat people. A mobile was sent to a man and he was asked to insert the SIM card. He was asked to fill information in an app on the mobile and Rs 7.5 lakh was withdrawn from his account.
A 43-year-old man staying in Balewadi has lodged a complaint at the Chatuhshrungi police station. Accordingly, the police have filed an FIR against Sadhu Natvarbhai Govindbhai, a resident of Ahmedabad, Reshma Manohar Sarvade, a resident of Beed and Pradip Kailas Narwade. The incident took place between January 18 and February 17.
According to the police, Sadhu Natvarbhai called the complainant on his mobile. He was told that the validity of his Citibank credit card was going to end soon and he will be issued a CitiBank Diners Club International Card. The accused sent a Redmi mobile to the complainant. He was asked to insert a SIM card in the mobile. He was asked to enter his mobile in the Dot Secure App and enter the details about his credit card. After he entered the information, the cyber crooks transferred Rs 7 lakh and 50,000 from his account by carrying out 11 transactions. The complainant had lodged a complaint at the cyber police station. The cyber police through investigation have found the cyber crooks and PI Dada Gaikwad of Chatuhshrungi police station is carrying out further investigation.
