Pune Crime | Cops raid gambling den at farm house in Punavale; goods worth Rs 10 lakh seized

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime | The Pimpri Chinchwad police crime branch raided a gambling den being operated by renting a farmhouse in Punavale. During the raid, the police have seized goods worth Rs 9 lakh 92 thousand 650.

 

Police constable Prashant Nandram Said has lodged a complaint at the Hinjewadi police station. A case has been registered against 11 persons. The incident took place at a farmhouse in Punvale located behind the Life Republic society on Wednesday midnight.

 

The owner of the farm house, Malhari Masgude, a resident of Somatane Phata, gambling den owner Jabbar Karim Shaikh, a resident of Thergaon, Akshay Digambar Nanavare (24), a resident of Pimpri, Shantaram Sukhdev Bhalerao (32), a resident of Akurdi, Vyankatesh Sitanna Kadgir (38), a resident of Mamurdi Dehu Road, Vazir Allabaksh Pathan (36), a resident of Thergaon, Ketan Jagannath Chendke (24), a resident of Somatane Phata, Avinash Dashrath Shinde (23), a resident of Kalewadi, Narayan Tukaram Rathod (35), a resident of Yerawada, Shubham Limbaji Sangolkar (25), a resident of Dehu Road and Suraj Naresh Kadam (30), a resident of Thergaon have been identified as the accused.

 

According to the police, the farmhouse is owned by Malhari Masgude and he had given it to Jabbar Shaikh on a rent of Rs 30,000 per month. Shaikh used to call others and used to operate the gambling den. The Pimpri Chinchwad police crime branch was tipped off by a reporter about the gambling den being operated at the farm house.

 

Senior PI Macchidra Pandit instructed the crime branch officials to carry out a raid. Jabbar Shaikh was operating a gambling den. After the police entered the farm house, they found that gambling was going on in the hall. Shaikh had made space available for gambling and he used to take commission from those who were gambling.
