Cop attached to Yerwada jail who shot himself dies

Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | A policeman who attempted suicide by shooting himself in the wee hours on Sunday later died during treatment at the Sassoon General Hospital. (Pune Crime)

The victim has been identified as Amol Murlidhar Mane (28). He was seriously injured in the incident and was shifted to the hospital. Later, he died during treatment.

According to details, Mane was posted as a guard at the jail. He was on duty on Saturday. He shot himself from his service rifle in the wee hours on Sunday. His colleagues immediately rushed him to the Sassoon Hospital. It was said that he had some family problems.

Mane received the bullet injury in the middle of his forehead. He was admitted to the ICU, where he breathed his last at around 3 pm. Mane hailed from Ahmednagar. He joined the prison police in 2015.
