Case filed against three persons for issuing appointment letters by using fake signature of civic chief

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime | A case has been registered wherein three youths were duped by promising them jobs of peons in the Pune Municipal Corporation and were cheated of Rs 16 lakh 10 thousand. (Pune Crime)

 

A 24-year-old youth staying in Kothrud has lodged a case at the Kothrud police station. A case has been filed against Ashish Ubale, Sandip Udmale and Yavshob Devkule. The incident took place in Gujarat Colony from November 3, 2020 to January 4, 2022.

 

A person came to the office of Additional Municipal Commissioner of PMC Ravindra Binwade on Friday. He told him that he had been appointed as peon and was carrying an appointment letter. The letter was signed by Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar and three serving/retired additional municipal commissioners. Binwade realised that the letter was fake and ordered a probe into the issue.

 

When the person was questioned, she admitted paying a bribe of Rs 3 lakh to get the job. Civic chief Vikram Kumar issued orders that a case should be immediately lodged. Vikram Kumar contacted Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta and requested him to register a case and arrest the accused.

 

After a discussion on who should file a complaint in the case, on Sunday night, a complaint lodged by a youth who was cheated, was registered on Sunday night.

 

According to the police, the accused told the complainant and two of his friends that they will ensure that they will get jobs as peons in the PMC and took Rs 16 lakh 10 thousand from them. A case has been registered as the youths were cheated after they were given fake letters of appointment made by the deputy commissioner of the general administration department of the PMC.

 

The Kothrud police are on the lookout of the accused. PSI Sable is investigating the case.
