Pune: Crime Branch arrests two persons for possession of pistols, recover two pistols and live cartridges

Pune: Two persons were arrested by Pune Police Crime Branch for alleged possession of pistols near Taljai hill. Two pistols and two cartridges were seized from them. The accused were identified as Yogesh Ganesh Borge (21), resident of Dhankawadi and Rishikesh Rajabhau Garud (22), resident of Padmavati, Sahakarnagar. A case has been registered at Sahakarnagar police station.

Upon interrogation, the accused revealed that the two were given the pistols by a fugitive criminal to sell them.

According to the police, Sachin Jadhav (Crime Unit 1) received a tip-off that two youths were present near Taljai hill with pistols. Accordingly, the team set a trap and arrested the two accused. The accused revealed during the interrogation that a criminal charged under MCOCA by Pimpri Chinchwad police had given them the pistols.

This action was taken by the team of Sub-Inspector Sunil Kulkarni, Police Officers Sachin Jadhav, Datta Sonawane, Prashant Gaikwad, Imran Sheikh, Mahesh Bamgude, Ashok Mane, Shashikant Darekar, Satish Bhalekar and Jitusingh Vasave.
