The girl’s father came there to take his daughter. He stopped the woman who was taking his daughter and she told the child’s father that she was the child’s aunt. The woman has been identified as Chhaya Yuvraj Shirsath (28), a resident of Akola. The incident happened at a school in Khadki on Tuesday at 11 am. A 35-year-old resident of Khadki has lodged a complaint.
According to the police, the woman hails from Akola and is a psychiatric patient. She had come to Pune on Monday. On Monday midnight she rang the doorbell of a flat in a Khadki society and told the owner that she had some work with him. The owner called the watchman who asked her to leave the society. Then she went to a school in Khadki. The complainant’s 5-year-old girl studies in UKG class in the school. He had gone to the school to pick her up. At that time, the woman told the teachers that she was the aunt of the child and was taking her away. Fortunately, the child’s father reached the school. He took his daughter away from the woman and handed over the woman to the police. API Kadam is probing the case.
