Attack on civic officials during anti-encroachment drive in Dhanori; FIR filed against 20-25 people, 2 arrested

The police have filed an FIR against 20 to 25 people at the Vishrantwadi police station and arrested two persons. The incident happened on the main road in Dhanori on Tuesday at 2.30 pm.
Prakash Mahadev Kumbhar (48), a resident of Karishmi Society, Vadgaon Budruk, Pune has filed a complaint at the Vishrantwadi police station. The police have filed a case against Shiva Parande (55), a resident of Dhanori, Mangesh Salunkhe (32), Rajuram Rooparam Chaudhary (44), Naresh Chaudhary (19) and 20-25 others for obstructing government work. The police have arrested Rajuram Rooparam Chaudhary and Naresh Chaudhary.
The PMC was demolishing unauthorised stalls in the front margin of a private property near the main road in Laxmi Nagar, Dhanori. The local residents strongly opposed the action and a mob of 20-25 people assaulted encroachment inspector Anil Pardeshi. Some others threw stones at the JCB and shouted slogans disrupting government work.
