Pune Crime | Action against Gajya Marne, Rupesh Marne, Pappu alias Sachin Gholap among 14 gangsters under MCOCA
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | A crime was registered against notorious gangster Gajya Marne, who led the gang of 14, for demanding Rs 20 crore in return for an investment of Rs 4 crore in the share market. The police on Tuesday took action against the accused in the case under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). (Pune Crime)
Sachin alias Pappu Dattatray Gholap (43), resident of Dhankawadi, Hemant alias Anna Balaji Patil (39) from Sangli district, Amar Shivaji Kirdat (46) from Satara district, Feroz Muhammad Shaikh (50) from Satara district, Gajanan alias Gajya alias Maharaj Pandharinath Marne (gang leader), resident of Kothrud, Rupesh Krushnarao Marne and Santosh Shelar, both from Kothrud, Monika Pawar, resident of Bopodi, Ajay Gole, resident of Narhe, Nitin Pagare from Satara, and Prasad Khandagale, resident of Sahakar Nagar have been booked under the MCOCA. Four of them have been arrested while others are absconding.
Investigations conducted by PI Balaji Pandhare from the Anti-Extortion Cell of Crime Branch, Pune proved that the gang led by Marne tried to establish its hold over the area and committed the crime for financial gain.
PI Pandhare prepared a proposal and sent it to Addl CP Ramnath Pokale through DCP Srinivas Ghadge. The proposal was verified under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta. Later, action was taken under the MCOCA. The investigation of the case has been handed over to ACP Narayan Shirgaonkar.
Gajya Marne had staged a massive rally on Pune-Mumbai Expressway after his release from the Taloja jail some years ago, for which he was booked in several cases. He was detained for a year in this regard. Marne was not active after his release. However, now he has been booked for issuing threats to kill.
Under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Srinivas Ghadge, ACP Narayan Shirgaonkar, the Anti-Extortion Cell Unit 2 led by PI Balaji Pandhare took the action.
Crime Branch Unit 5 PI Hemant Patil, API Changdev Sajjanne, API Shailaja Jankar, PSI Avinash Lahote, police personnel Vijay Gurav, Pradip Shitole, Shailesh Surve, Rahul Uttarkar, Vinod Salunke, Anil Mengde, Pramod Tilekar, Sangram Shingar, Sachin Ahiwale, Saidoba Bhojrao, Surendra Sable, Amol Pilane, Chetan Apte, Chetan Shirolkar, Pradip Gade, Vinod Shivale, Akbar Shaikh, Pavan Bhosale, Ravi Sapkal, Asha Kolekar and Rupali Karnavar took part in the action.
