Pune: CM Devendra Fadnavis inaugurates ‘Cops24’, calls state cyber platform ‘the best’

Pune: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that the government is trying to use technology as far as possible in police investigation. The State Government has created the best ‘Cyber Platform’ in the country. The central investigation agencies have provided the tollfree number ‘1945’ for the Maharashtra Police.
Fadnavis was speaking at the ‘Tarang 2025’ programme organised by the Pune Police. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, Minister of State for Urban Development Madhuri Misal, Punit Balan Group (PBG) President Punit Balan, Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, Jt CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma and other senior police officials were present. PBG sponsored the ‘Tarang 2025’ programme.
The ‘Cops 24’ police division was inaugurated by CM Fadnavis. The division has been launched to control serious crimes. Moreover, 125 two-wheelers and 39 four-wheelers have been inducted for ‘Cops 24’ into the Police Force. The ‘My Safe App’ was also launched. CM Fadnavis felicitated meritorious police officials and personnel on the occasion.
Fadnavis said, “The police are on duty 24X7. If they get good facilities, they will do justice to citizens. The government is committed to provide better facilities to the police. Pune is an important city at the international level. People from various countries visit Pune. The police are trying to solve serious traffic issues in the city. Many untoward incidents took place here. However, the police took strict action. Culprits have also been punished. Infrastructural facilities, CCTVs and vehicles have been provided for the Police Force. The police should now be seen on city roads. Response time should be shortened.”
‘Take care so that gold is not stolen again’
A jeweller in the city was given back his stolen 17-kg gold ornaments during the programme. Referring to this, DyCM Ajit Pawar said, “The police investigate serious cases; they have to maintain law and order; they are deployed on bandobast and during morchas. Should they perform these duties or chase thieves? The police have now returned you the stolen gold. It is your responsibility to guard your valuables and see to it that it is not stolen again.”
CP Amitesh Kumar gave the introductory speech. Jt CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma proposed a vote of thanks.
‘Tarang 2025’ was held for the police officials, personnel and their families at the Police Ground in Shivajinagar. Famous music composer duo Ajay-Atul presented various popular Marathi, Hindi film songs and won hearts of the police and their families.
