Pune: Anti-Extortion Cell Police Nabs Wanted Criminal Hrithik Ekhande; Seizes Pistol and Live Rounds Worth Rs 25000

Pune: The Anti-Extortion Cell has successfully arrested one criminal who is charged with four crimes along with a murder and seized a pistol and four live rounds of bullets from him. The detained accused has been identified as Hrithik Kailas Ekhande (age 23), a resident of Erandwane, Pune.

The Police Ammaldar Rajendra Landge and Mayur Bhokare of the Anti-Extortion Cell Pune have gotten the information that the wanted criminal, Hrithik Kailas Ekhande, was arriving at Sahavas Corner in the Karve Nagar area. Accordingly, police set up a trap and detained him. In the police interrogation, he informed police that he kept a pistol and one live round of bullets in his home.

Accordingly, police raided his home and seized goods worth Rs 25,100 from his house. As per the police information, Hrithik Ekhande is a notorious criminal, and he has multiple police cases registered against him at various police stations in Pune.

In 2017, Hrithik Ekhande was first charged in the murder case at Kothrud Police Station. After that, in 2019 also he was booked in the attempt of murder case at Uttam Nagar Police Station. Ekhande also had cases under the Arms Act at Deccan and Hinjewadi Police Stations. In this regard, Assistant Police Inspector Abhijit Patil is conducting further investigation.

This action was taken by the team of Assistant Police Inspector Vijaykumar Shinde, Abhijit Patil, Assistant Police Faujdar Praveen Dhamal, Police Constable Sayaji Chavan, Ravindra Phulpagare, Amol Awad, Nitin Kamble, Duryodhan Gurav, Prafulla Chavan, Rajendra Landge, Mayur Bhokare, Amar Pawar, Gitanjali Jambhulkar, and Ankush Bhise under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingle, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ganesh Ingle, and Senior Inspector of Police Anti-Extortion Cell Shailesh Sankhe.
