Pune airport to have canopies at pick up point

NPnews24 Online Pune: The Pune airport authority has decided to build canopy at the pick up point in the airport premises for the passengers.  The work for installing the shed will begin soon and will be completed by first week of August.

The shed will work as a cover from the rains. An official informed that the shed will be build over Parking Number 2.

The pick up area has been allotted for app-aggregated cab services and autorickshaws.

“Once the shed is up, the passenger will not have to wait in rains for their pick up,” the official said.

The official informed that there will also be sheds at other spots in the pickup zone.

Earlier, here were many complaints from passengers because due to heavy rains in the last few weeks, they were getting drenched while waiting for their cabs.

Many flyers had called for a measure of protection against the heavy rains and even appealed to the Civil Aviation Ministry.

A few disgruntled flyers even took to the Union Civil Aviation Ministry’s ‘Air Sewa’ feedback platform.

The Pune airport is also know as Lohegaon airport.
