Pune: After four hours of chase, forest officials successfully rescue Indian Bison running amok in Kothrud

Pune: After a four hours chase, forest officials along with Fire Brigade and Pune Police personnel have successfully rescued the Indian Bison, which was running amok in Mahatma Society of Kothrud since Wednesday morning 8 am.

The bison has been captured from the Indira Nagar area. The forest officials have given three injections to the animal so far.

Citizens stepping out for an early morning walk in the Lane number 1 of Mahatma society area were scared after an Indian Bison was spotted at around 8am. Initially morning walkers thought it was a cow or buffalo but when they realised that it was an Indian Bison, panic set in.

The news spread like a wildfire in the area. More citizens stepped out to see the animal. The Indian Bison jumped a compound wall of 10 feet in height and entered an open space. The animal has got injured after it started hitting the wall.

Meanwhile, some citizens informed the forest department and Pune Municipal Corporation officials. Local police station officials were also informed after which a rescue operation was launched.
